The objectives of the webinar are multiple.

First, it aims to provide an overview of generative artificial intelligence technologies and the methods used to generate synthetic data in the healthcare context. We will explain generation techniques, such as Generative Adversarial Networks (Gans) and Variational Aurtoencoders (Vaes), allowing participants to acquire a shared vocabulary related to the topic from a technical point of view.

Second, we will explore the practical applications of generative AI and synthetic data in the healthcare industry. Case studies will be presented in which the use of synthetic data has ensured significant results, such as the acceleration of medical research and the reproduction of complex clinical scenarios, ensuring the protection of data owners. This aspect aims to provide participants with a clear perspective on the added value that generative AI and synthetic data can bring to health care.

Finally, legal and regulatory issues related to the use of synthetic data in the healthcare sector will be addressed. The main regulatory aspects will be examined with a focus on data privacy, especially personal data. Sebastiano Saccani, PhD

Sebastiano Saccani is Chief R&D Officer and co-founder of Aindo, and oversees research and development. Sebastiano holds a master’s degree (cum laude) in physics from the University of Trieste. He obtained his PhD at the International Higher School of Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste in 2013, specializing in condensed matter theory and simulation. Sebastiano has gained significant work experience in the fields of financial mathematics and machine learning in the insurance sector (respectively in List and Allianz Technology).

Alessandro di Pietro, MsC, MBA

With a background in Biomedical Engineering and an MBA with a focus on digital transformation, Alessandro brings a unique perspective into the world of business innovation, linked to the introduction of emerging technologies. His experience focuses on the complex world of innovation and technology, whether it is developing innovative business models or implementing marketing strategies.Having acquired a deep understanding of emerging technologies and focusing on the opportunities offered by synthetic data and digital twins, has gained experience in the creation and implementation of marketing strategies related to new technologies.

Vanessa Cocca, LL.M

Vanessa is Associate of the Digital team at CRCLEX and holds the position of Data Protection Officer (DPO) for Aindo and primary companies. Expert in privacy issues in the healthcare sector, Vanessa also holds an LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology, Bocconi University of Milan. In 2016 he also earned a Diplôme universitaire at Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas. Before joining the Digital team, Vanessa had work experience in international contexts in Brussels and Copenhagen.
