THE PROJECT.
bioXclusters plus was a European initiative that united four major European biotechnology and health clusters-Biocat (Catalonia, Spain); Bio M (Bavaria, Germany); bioPmed (Piedmont, Italy); and Lyonbiopole (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France). The alliance represents a total of 3,300 SMEs working in the fields of personalized medicine, oncology, cardiovascular, inflammatory and infectious diseases. The initiative was supported by the European Union’s COSME program and is part of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform.
bioXclusters plus aimed to support the competitiveness of SMEs by fostering their internationalization and creating a single European reference point for global players in the life sciences and health sector. Through its network, the alliance shares best practices, stimulates synergies and innovation, and offers advice and information for companies to enter international markets.
The alliance has established contacts with Brazil, China and the United States and is now expanding its activities to Japan, Australia and other markets.
