S3MARTMED

The S3martMed project was created as part of the activities of the industrial modernization group of the S3 Platform dedicated to medical technologies.

The 5 partner clusters – Lyonbiopole (Auvergne Rhône-Alpes), Biowin (Wallonia), BioPmed (Piedmont), GAPR – Medsilesia (Upper Silesia), Bioregion STERN (Bade Wurttemberg) – with the S3martMed project aim to promote interregional and cross-sectoral cooperation among European clusters and their members through the creation of a unique cluster partnership.

The goal is to provide opportunities for cooperation through the organization of B2B and C2C networks at the interregional level, involving SMEs, technology centers and key stakeholders from partner cluster regions but not only. Therefore, all networking activities will be open and shared with all Regions, Clusters and their SMEs involved in the S3 Medtech platform.

Once interregional collaborations emerge and are identified among stakeholders, the goal of S3martMed is to support these entrepreneurial collaborations as they mature to the point of defining investment/financing scenarios together with regional authorities. Identifying common territorial/cluster development strategies and attempting to align practices (e.g., evaluation criteria and methodologies, timing of publication of funding calls, etc.) will be the “glue” that will make multiregional initiatives possible. Also at this stage, regions and clusters will be invited to share their experiences and contribute to the work.
