DESCRIPTION

The Edo and Elvo Tempia ONLUS Foundation, which bears the name, along with that of his son Edo, of the late president of the Elvo Tempia Valenta Fund – who passed away in 2004 – was established in 2005 by the voluntary association Fondo Edo Tempia, with the main purpose of enhancing research activities in the Pharmacogenomics Laboratory, which was inaugurated in 2001.

The Edo and Elvo Tempia Foundation operates in the following areas: Prevention, Early Diagnosis, Screening, Research, Molecular Oncology, Palliative Care, Psycho-oncology, Public Health Support, Cancer Registry, Dissemination and Training, with professionals working on behalf of the Foundation itself or made available to the Local Health Authorities. Collaborators who ensure with their professionalism and passion, quality and continuity in essential oncology services in our area.

There is a strong and synergistic institutional relationship between the Edo and Elvo Tempia Foundation and the Edo Tempia Fund, which is also guaranteed by a substantial overlap of roles in the governance of both. The president of both organizations is Simona Tempia Valenta, Elvo’s daughter and Edo’s sister, the bearer of the Tempia family’s responsibility at the head of these two important entities, but above all the guarantor of the historical continuity based on the seriousness, ethics and transparency with which the Fund first, and the Foundation later, have always operated, in addition to exercising stimulating and guiding functions cultivated in the wake of her father Elvo’s moral and institutional legacy.

The Edo and Elvo Tempia ONLUS Foundation works in an integrated and synergistic way with the voluntary association Fondo Edo Tempia ONLUS, in collaboration with territorial Health Authorities, Universities and Research Centers in order to support and improve oncology programs in the Piedmont Region.
Carries out charitable activities in the welfare and health sector for the protection of human health in the field of oncology. He has been an active member of UICC (International Union Against Cancer) since 2007. Adheres to the principles of the Ethics Charter and has been recognized by the Italian Institute of Donation for Ethics and Transparency of Nonprofit Entities.
