Counterfeiting and food fraud: the role of labels

We learn what is written on a label, what are the requirements to be met, how to recognize the most common crucial information and fraud. The aim is toacquire awareness for more informed food choices. The webinar is suitable for anyone, from consumer to food company for regulatory aspects.
Webinar goals
The webinar aims to give participants useful information about food labels and the dangers of counterfeiting that they may unknowingly encounter. The webinar will be divided into two parts. Starting from the definition of the role of food labels will be provided clarifications on the information that, legally and theoretically, must be included for the complete description of a product. The second part aims to highlight what is hidden in the product, disregarding the information of the label. The instruments available to combat fraud will also be described. Through the themes proposed, we intend to share useful information for conscious purchases that make the consumer able to distinguish the types of product through their labelling.
Target group
The course is open to all as consumers but also to food companies for regulatory aspects.
